Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-Grace. Let us, today, imagine a family of mice. They lived their lives, from birth, in a piano. To them, in their piano world, came the music of the piano, with sound and harmony. They enjoyed talking about the gift of music given by the Great Musician they could not see.

One day, a daring mouse climbed up part of the piano. He came back thoughtful. He said, “I've found out how music arises.” He continued, “Wires are the secret, tightly stretched ones of different length are trembling and vibrating.” The mice decided they had to revise their belief-system. They reasoned that none but the most conservative could continue to believe in the Unseen Musician.

Later, another mouse dared venture upward into the piano. He came back, thoughtful. He said, “Hammers are the source of the music, not the wires. Hammers are leaping and dancing on the wires.” The mice considered this a more complicated theory, but they were a little sad that now they felt in need of revising their beliefs to affirm music only arose as a mathematical and mechanical matter.

Later, some mice developed a theory that the Source of the Music was whatever each mice chose to believe to be the Source. Whatever one believed, was okay. And other mice said it was all a figment of the imagination, even the wires and hammers.

Interestingly, the music continued to sound out in harmony and beauty. The Great Musician continued to bless the mice world with lovely sound.

While persons continue to argue how the Earth and life forms got here, the world continues to evolve, breath, dance, and live – as well as, share Its Life with us.

We do not have to see the Origination of the Universe, as we know It, to fit the image of a Creator Father-Figure, or a theistic God-Figure. We can hold different ideas of the origination of Life on this planet and Its continuation, while celebrating the Earth as a living Organism with Personality and Growth. We can claim, without holding any particular “theory,” that Something – or , Someone – of Personality and Emergent Being must be the Source giving rise to this World we share, together. And, guess what – The One is part of you, and you are part of the One.

Earth is not here simply to meet our needs. Earth is here for us to respect that Her Life is a gift, one to be cherished, respected, honored, cared for, and celebrated as one Family of People.
